Editor & Publisher
I am the editor and co-publisher of Grand Traverse Woman Magazine, a regional women’s magazine in Northern Michigan. I also host monthly women’s networking events and speak on various women’s topics on TV and radio. When the sun is shining (or not), I’m mountain biking on the gorgeous trails of Northern Michigan. I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
I have been published in Writer’s Digest, as well as Traverse Magazine, Traverse City Business News, The Ticker, Mountain Life, Families First, The Traverse City Record-Eagle and more. My publication, Grand Traverse Woman, is a regional bimonthly magazine that reaches 25,000 women in Northern Michigan. I write a motherhood column in the magazine about my kids and the dog, Cookie. It’s a perennial favorite with readers who appreciate my parenting skills or lack thereof.
Women’s Events, TV & Radio
I also host women’s network nights and luncheons each month with my twin sister. Over the course of the last decade, we have hosted over 9,000 women at networking events, carted 16 busloads of women to Chicago for GTWoman’s annual girls weekends and kept innumerable secrets. Each month, we host women’s network nights and luncheons (that usually sell-out!) with approx. 150 women in attendance. My magazine’s website gets 10,000 visitors each month.
I’m also a regular guest on TV and radio programs, speaking about (funny & frank) issues concerning women. For eight years, I was recognized in the top 40Under40 list by the Traverse City Business News for my work in giving women a forum in the community.
Awards & Causes
For eight years, I was recognized in the top 40Under40 list by the Traverse City Business News. The 40Under40 list compiles the most influential people in the region each year. At last, I’ve aged out of that honor. In addition, GTWoman was awarded one of the Top 10 businesses in the Traverse City Area in 2007. In 2010, we were nominated as one of the Top 10 businesses in Michigan. I am an advocate for many area organizations including Big Brothers/Big Sisters, American Cancer Society, Domestic Abuse Programs, March of Dimes and more. I was named the Honorary Co-Chair for March of Dimes Chefs Auction in 2009.
In a Nutshell
I have two sons, a husband, a MacBook Pro and a mountain bike. I run Grand Traverse Woman Magazine from my home office, and I skip staff meetings every spring to get out and train for Michigan mountain bike races.
